

The council meeting was called to order with Mayor Girodat
presiding, at 7:00 pm in the Pekin Community Center.
Members Present: Marvin Massey, Gary Beier, Dean
Ensrud, Duane Avdem, and Auditor Jane Hanson.
Guests: Brenda Bjorlie, Community Development Director
and Doug Messner, Fire Dept.
The minutes of the February 3, 2010 meeting were sent out
prior to the meeting. Motion to approve the minutes was
made by Ensrud, seconded by Massey,and the motion carried.
Motion to approve the financial report by Avdem, seconded
by Avdem and the motion carried.
Brenda received a survey from RRRC and D about planned
projects for the next three years. The City council discussed
the possibility of replacing the play ground equipment in the
city park and discussed some on a comfort station in the
Pioneer Park.
The final walk through with the architect for the auditorium has
been completed and the building can now be reappraised for
insurance.
The Pekin Fire Hall will be owned by the Fire District. Beier
made a motion that the City of Pekin and the fire department
split the utility bills for the building. Seconded by Ensrud and
the motion passed.
Ensrud reported on his trip to the Water Expo in Minot where
he attended several classes and reported on several
different topics.
The Nelson County Sheriff's Office sent out a list of calls for
services for the month of February and it is posted in the
Community Center.
There has been no word from Chris or Sara Rogness on their
property.
The city Election will be on June 8, 2010 and the deadline for
filing a candidate's name on the ballot is April 8, 2010 at
4:00 PM. Petitions are in the city office. Three positions are
up this year which are the city Mayor and two city councilmen.
The tax equalization meeting will be held on April 13, 2010
after the city meeting.
A motion was made by Ensrud to take one half out of the
sewer and one half out of the water fund ($2612.76) to go
to the fire department. Seconded by Massey and the motion carried.

Motion to pay bills by Beier, seconded by Avdem,
and the motion carried.

at the Pekin Community Center.
